Baby don’t hurt me - 2019
sculpture, installation, collective performance
„Post-Immersive participation should validate intimacy, tenderness, empathy and care over immersive spectacles, [...] emerges when the individual becomes a part of a temporary community [and] needs to be a collective thinking event centered on what it is to be a human being living in late capitalist societies“ (Ramos et al., 2020: The post-immersive manifesto). An unusually shaped abandoned swimming pool, stains on the tiles and remains of dirty black water, graffiti on the windows, soft warm light. A fictional space inside the HfbK annual exhibition, it was holding a narrative commonly associated with abandoned spaces, implying a potential use and behavior within the space, creating a social situation and a sense of community.
